Hey Mark, long time fan first time post.
Have you seen/played Empire Earth yet? I really think you would enjoy the world editor. I won't say more. Go find out for yourself how wonderful the game is! Also. Go to their web page and get the latest download for multiplayer action!

It looks fun... though I'm wary, after Civ2, of engrossing myself in another game like it! Plus I have to wait for the Mac version. (The only game I've played that migrated in the other direction was Bugdom...)
